The room was very nice. Bit of trek from reception to the room, but nice once in it.

The breakfast service was terrible. We went down at 9.30 and stood for 10 minutes waiting to be seated. That was bad enough but not one of the staff doing service looked us in the eye or acknowledged that we were there and that we would be seated shortly(we could actually see empty tables). When we were finally seated the 2 couples behind us then waited even longer. When we asked the head waiter if they were short staffed he came out with something about the number of guests they had staying and everyone came down at the same time. Now there was a wedding on the previous evening as the guests all seemed to know one another but surely if you have a wedding on and x amount of guests you ensure you have enough staff on to ensure the guests are happy and attended to not left waiting.

The grounds of the Manor are beautiful. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, bathroom facilities were excellent. Majority of staff were friendly and polite.

The water provided was warm from being too near the radiator and there were no fridges provided. Fire Alarm went off in the middle of the night and there was nobody to tell us what was happening, we had to go and find out. One particular member of reception staff was quite abrupt and did not explain what he was doing with my credit card, gave me the wrong key for the room and did not apologise - I had to suggest resetting the key to ensure it would work.

The staff were very polite and helpful. A very pleasant stay. The hotel has lots of character. This was our second stay and will definitely stay again.

Close to m25 but not near enough to hear the traffic. Greeted by friendly staff and room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good and service excellent. Thge deal we received was amazing for a 4* hotel. We were asked to pay on day of booking but when previously using Booked.net we have not settled the account until departure.

i have stayed in other hotels before for either a night or weekend, and must say was very pleasantly surprised when i unlocked my bedroom door!!! The price i paid for the room was very reasonable and far outshone my expectations, We also had a meal, and this too was of high quality and the staff were very nice and attentive at all times. I would definetely stay again !!!

A delightful small hotel. Large rooms with all the extras (fruit, tea/coffee etc). Plenty of wardrobe/drawer space. Set around a very pretty courtyard. Friendly, helpful staff. Large car-park. Have recommended to friends and family.

My husband and I have stayed at the Marygreen Manor around four times now. We spent our wedding night there 18 years ago and go back every few years and have always had a really lovely time. Unfortunately on this occasion we received a free upgrade from the garden room originally booked to a suite in the main house which in itself was lovely but what they failed to tell us on booking in was that our suite was directly above a wedding party and at 6.30 prompt the disco started! The noise was appalling and when we complained, they apologised and told us we should have been informed of that fact on booking in, they would speak to the person who was on reception at the time. They did offer us the original room booked but as I was in the bath at the time we declined. The disco went on until 11.30. As my husband pointed out to them why give people a free upgrade to a room above a disco. This has obviously left us very disappointed to the point where we may not go back again. Anybody booking into the Marygreen Manor with you should be aware that if they get a free upgrade, ask why first and what room they are being given!

The room was very comfortable and cosy.

Breakfast was a bit like 'Faulty Towers' some of the staff were not very attentive and were very abrupt.

The main part of the hotel was was beautiful but the separate accommodation attached was dated and in need of refurbishment. However, we had the most amazing meal in the restaurant. The restaurant was 2 rosettes awarded and the food and service was fantastic costing approx £100 per head, but well worth it.

    • Couple

The room was very spacious, with a large bed & bathroom. There was free fruit & Mineral water available with great tea & coffee facilities. The room was tidy and very 'oldy worldy' (we stayed in the Anne of Cleves Room) There was plenty of staff to help out when we first arrived. The hotel is located close to the M25, however, its far enough away to avoid any traffic noise.

The old bedrooms did not hold up well to other noise. There was a christmas party/carol concert quite close to our room and I almost felt I was there! Anyone coming up the steps towards the other rooms in the area also felt like they were coming into our room. At breakfast, service was quite slow and the continential buffet was a bit bare (we came towards the end of the service). The size of the english breakfast was not worth the £10 paid [£15 if you paid at the time])

Excellent staff; beautiful hotel with great facilities. I loved the way that the modern extensions to the hotel have been blended in well with the original tudor style of the hotel.

Easy access, easy parking, nice room & garden & overall environment. Special thanks of helping on adaptor and flexibility to receive it back!

Bathroom is cold and ventilator very noicy when on!
